RIP The Great Bob Woolmer

bob_woolmer.jpgBob Woolmer’s death has come as a huge shock. Everyone is shocked and saddened by the sudden death in Jamaica of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer, who coached South Africa from 1994 to 1999. Now he was coaching the present Pakistani team. The Pakistan camp have been struggling to cope with Woolmer’s death and have not had a practice session since their defeat by Ireland on Saturday which knocked them out of the tournament.

What’s more shocking is that the latest update reveals that Bob was actually murdered as poison traces in his room were found, according to Jamaican police. All Pakistani players including the physio are being questioned. This is not going to be good for Pakistani team. This may be end of international coaches for the Pakistan team forever. Or perhaps they can be banned forever. God knows! It has been claimed that there was some match fixing issues behind the murder. As said, Bob knew about some players who were involved in match fixing and was about to reveal them all the following morning. But this mishap occured. This is really insane. How on earth can anybody recover from such a big loss!

All i can say is, R.I.P The great Bob Woolmer :(

Did India Makes Us Proud At Match Against Bermuda

Well, i guess they did make us feel good if not proud. Glad that Sachin Tendulkar played out of his skins, Saurav Ganguly the new wall of India ;) and Yuvraj Singh, the new Master Blaster :)   .

Bowling was good, but the killing spirit when it comes to opposition tail enders is still missing. Why do they take it for granted in the end. Why not just go for the kill. Anyways, still good bowling. Batting was great. Yeh, Sehwag was okay but i seriously don’t think he can do it against Sri Lanka :( I would love to be proven wrong but i don’t believe him. Anyways, fielding was cool as well. I think India stands a good chance against SriLanks and they very well have to. This win is very important for them to get them going. Well, all the best to India for the third and final match of the preliminaries at this World Cup 2007.

Go India Go!!!!! :D

Shameless Defeat At World Cup 2007

Me, Desibaba, is really furious at what happened yesterday night. :(

We all, like an idiot woke up late till night just to see the complete India vs. Bangladesh match at Cricket World Cup’2007.  Huh? Dejected, disappointed and depressed with the Indian team performance. :(

They played like someone playing their first international match. Shameless to say, but Ireland play much better cricket than India. Pakistan crashed out of contention at the World Cup on a loss to Ireland that ranked among the biggest upsets ever at cricket’s limited-overs showpiece. India was no far :( Certainly a big upset for Indians too.

Here are as brief stats as they can be

Cricket World Cup 2007

India 191/10 (49.3), Bangladesh 192/5 (48.3)

Bangladesh won by 5 wickets

Next Match: Bermuda vs. India at 19 March 2007 13:30(GMT)

I cancelled the India vs. Bermuda match. Coz for some reason i don’t feel like watching it. I still believe however that India can atleast defeat Bermuda. maybe :(

Anyways, a sad morning for every Indian.

Tip: try finding something better than Cricket. Cricket sucks!!!!

Untill unless India beats SriLanks and Bermuda ;) Optimism still prevails :D

Good day everyone.

mandira_bedi.jpg

Popular televison anchor Mandira Bedi will again dazzle viewers during the coverage of the Cricket World Cup next month.

This time she will drape sarees, specially designed by fashion house Satya Paul.

The five saris will be auctioned by online website eBay after the mega event and will include flags of the participating nations, signatures of players, a red cricket ball, newspaper mastheads and cricket figurines.

The collection, which has been titled ‘Bowled On The Run-Way’, will be auctioned and its proceeds will be donated to a charitable organisation Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) association, which looks after disabled artists.

“For the first time I will be wearing saris that have been designed on the cricketing theme. I am also very happy to be part of a good cause,” said Mandira, a function organised to unveil the collection in New Delhi on Friday.

eBay also announced the launch of their Cricket Mania campaign to support the Indian team during their World Cup campaign. It will also donate Rs 5 to MFPA for every ‘Go India Go’ wristband that is auctioned during the event.
